HUMBOLDT

2006-2010

The EU project HUMBOLDT started on October 1st, 2006. All in all 27 partners from 14 European countries are working in the Humboldt project under the direction of the Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Graphics .The project has a duration of four years.

Humboldt will contribute to the implementation of an European Spatial Data Infrastructure (ESDI) that integrates all the diversity of spatial data available from the multitude of European organizations. It is the aim of this project to manage and advance the implementation process of this ESDI. The software tools and processes to realize theese proposals will be also created.

HUMBOLDT resumes both, the INSPIRE initiative (http://inspire.jrc.it/) and the goals of Global Monitoring for Environment and Security (GMES).

The project partners proceed from: Germany, Spain, Czech Republic, United Kingdom, France, Switzerland, Netherlands, Italy, Hungary, Lithuania, Greece, Sweden, Portugal, Cyprus.

The Czech Republic project partners are Forest Management Institute, Help Service Remote Sensing (HSRS) and Intergraph Czech Republic.
